Instructions
Today you will watch players participate in a game show. The players will spin a wheel with three sections. The sections are each labeled with an amount of money, and an arrow will land on one of the sections, determining how much the player wins. The odds that the arrow will land on a given section when the wheel stops depend on the size of the section. The prizes and odds of winning more or less money will vary from game to game.
You will watch a total of {{}} games.
While each player spins the wheel, another person will watch. The identities of both the player and this observer will differ from game to game. The observer will see what the player wins but will not receive any of the prize themselves. After each spin, you will see how the observer feels about the result. We will ask you to guess the relationship between the player and the observer based on the observer's emotional reaction to the player's outcome.
Before the task begins, here are some example relationships to help you get a sense of how to rate relationship strength. Please use the following examples as a guide to interpret the ratings on the thermometer and make your judgments during the task.
